1981 - Participação no 4º Salão Nacional de Artes Plásticas, no Museu de Arte Moderna, no Rio de Janeiro, onde ganhou o "Prêmio de Viagem ao Exterior ", na categoria pintura.

1982 - Graduação em medicina pela Faculdade de Medicina Petrópolis.

1983 - Participação no 6º Salão Nacional de Artes Plásticas, no Rio de Janeiro, onde foi convidado a participar da "Sala Especial dos Artistas Premiados com Viagem".

1984 - Participação no 7º Salão Nacional de Artes Plásticas, no Museu de Arte Moderna, no Rio de Janeiro.

“Na Galeria Paulo Prado (Jardim América), o médico, filósofo e pintor Antônio Pedro, expõe uma série de obras figurativas pintadas com tinta acrílica sobre tela. Ele mostra em suas 32 obras, datadas de 85 e 86 um dos mais dotados artistas da linha expressionista.
São figuras femininas e masculinas em ambientes soturnos, opressivos como se estivessem próximos de acontecer momentos de tragédia.
Antônio Pedro, com carreira recente, iniciada nos salões oficiais paulistas ( em 78 ), já faz parte de um grupo que revela um extremo rigor.
As figuras paradas, se entreolham na expectativa de um drama que a todo momento pode acontecer. Nele há qualquer coisa semelhante à arte de Dubuffet ou ao seu patrício Iberê Camargo.
Poucas vezes a pintura conseguiu no Brasil atingir uma densidade dramática sem recorrer a gestos decompostos ou formas que em toda a sua tranqüilidade, no fundo traduzem inquietação. Isto pode-se explicar: Antônio Pedro formou-se em medicina, na Universidade de Petrópolis, além de ter uma formação filosófica. Medicina e filosofia dão sua cooperação para um dos mais dotados expressionistas brasileiros.
À primeira vista, trata-se de uma pintura bem posta, elegante e até sociável. No entanto, sob esta manifestação há uma explosão prestes a acontecer.”

"Antonio Pedro, painter, philosopher, medic, shows at the "Galeria Paulo Prado" (Jardim América ) a colletion of figurative works with acrylic on canvas technic. He shows 32 works, dated ’85 and ’86 one of the most talented artists of the expretionist trend.
They are masculin and feminin figures in dark, closed ambience, oppressed as if near a tragedy.
Antonio Pedro, with a recent career, begun at the official salons of São Paulo ( ’ 78 ), is already part of a group of extreme rigour.
The static figures, look at each other in expectency of drama that can happen at any moment. In his work we find some similarity to Dubuffet’ s work or of his compatriot Iberê Camargo’s.
Very rarely has painting attained such dramatic density in Brazil, without having to resort to gestures and decomposing of forms, but in all its tranquility show the background anguish. That can be explained: Antonio Pedro is a graduate in medicine at the Petropolis School of Medicine, besides being also graduated in philosophy. Medicine and philosophy enhance one of the most talented brazilian expressionists.
At first, it seems a well groomed, elegant, even sociable painting. Nevertheless, under this clothing there is an explosion ready to happen."
